So as I understand it from the SoCal CAF, this is N40FS, an original Fi-156D and not a French MS version as is often stated, although unfortunately the complete history of the plane is unknown. It is the D stretcher-medivac variant with the large triangular side window to allow the transporattion of two stretchers with wounded personel and is undergoing restoration to flying condition.

This is an original Storch built in Kassel in 1944. Version D-2 was an air ambulance aircraft for the transportation of two stretchers and a seat for the paramedic behind the pilot. After the war the plane was acquired by the Air Fighter Academy and fully restored in 2017. It is now part of this collection of airworthy warbirds at EDAH.

Hangar 10 at Heringsdorf takes extremely good care of its collection, as demonstrated by the looks of the powerplant of this Fieseler Storch. It shows the super clean inverted V-8 Argus As 10 engine of the plane.

This ex German Air Force aircraft was registered D-EVAS in Sep-2014. In Jan-2016 the registration was cancelled when it became N156SF. Not to be confused with another ex German Air Force Fi-156 (cn 2299) which was allocated the same registration in Oct-2017.
