Ex Dutch East Indies air force Lockheed 12 serial L2-34. The USAAF serial is based on the c/n (1302) and the year it was taken over the Americans (1942). It was never an official serial and 42-1302 is actually a Vultee BT-13. No official serial was allocated to the Lockheed. The aircraft remained with the USAAF until the end of World War 2. After 1942 it was used in Papua New Guinea as a courier aircraft. In 1946 it was sold in Australia and became VH-ASG. Photo from: National Library of Australia
