Prototype Ferry specifically built to the requirements of Alan Cobham for his National Aviation Day displays. Cobham served as a Director of Airspeed in return for placing an order for two aircraft for his company, National Aviation Day Limited which combined showmanship with air displays and joy-riding. Although its name oozes transport from A to B, the Ferry was designed for sightseeing flights with Cobham's Flying Circus, having good short field performance.
