An Open House at Tempelhof, where the American eagle had replaced the German one. This H-5 helicopter is preserved in another hot spot of the Cold War - Korea: see other photo of 49-2007.

This helicopter was intially delivered to the RCAF as 9602. In February 1980 it was registered N5219 to an owner in Tampa, FL and at some later point before July 1988 became become part of this super museum. The helicopter has been wonderfully restored in this Sikorsky executive transport scheme and is on display in the Civilian Hangar.

After its military service, this helicopter flew under civil registration N6591D. Before it went to the Seoul War Memorial museum, it was on display with the New England Air Museum.

The museum re-located from the Alaska State Fairgrounds in Palmer to their current home at Wasilla in 1992. The helicopter is displayed there at time of upload.
