This is a rare photo of the only USAC Turbo Express ever converted. Ex USAAF 43-49483. To RCAF KK160, N502PA. Converted in July 1982 to USAC Turbo Express by the United States Aircraft Corp. (USAC) at Van Nuys, CA, and registered N300TX. The aircraft was acquired by Basler in 1987 as N300BF and was converted to the Basler BT-67 ptototype. Briefly leased to Mali AF as TZ-389 (2) from Apr 1997 until Aug 1997, then returned to Basler in the US, again as N300BF.

A rare photo of the world's only USAC Turbo Express, undergoing conversion to the Basler BT-67 prototype in the Basler hangar (ex N300TX). The original rectangular windows indicate that this aircraft was still largely in Turbo Express configuration at the time of this photo. The following year they were replaced by smaller round porthole windows, then later reverted to rectangular windows again.
