Southern Airlines leased the aircraft from National Jet System for 12 months to cover the heavy maintenance of its own Dash-8-100 fleet.

First flew as C-GGOM in 1983 and used by De Havilland Canada. Converted to a DHC-8-102 and delivered to Air BC in 1985. Used by a number of Canadian airlines. To Freedom Airlines/Delta Connection as N810LR in 2006. Stored at Calgary in 2008. Modified to a DHC-8-103 for Presidential Airways in 2009. To AAR Airlift in 2010 and used in Afghanistan. Reregistered as N634AR in 2013. Withdrawn from use at Malta in 2019 and used for parts.

Dash 8 number 39 was delivered to Air Canada Connector Air Nova July 5, 1986. Flying through the consolidation of the Air Canada connectors into Air Canada Regional / Jazz, the aircraft was sold to Wells Fargo Bank and leased to Freedom Airlines as N805LR in August 2006. Returned to the lessor in March 2008, it was flown to Calgary, stored and later parted out.

On a sales tour and it still carries the extended test pitot tube on the wing-tip. Likely trying to interest Perimeter Airlines who at the time were flying the Queen Air, Metroliner and DC-3. A bit out of their price range then but about 25 years later Perimeter did add the type.

In service July 1986 as C-FCTA for Air Canada Connector with Air Nova. To the USA to be operated by Freedom Airlines for Delta Connection in August 2006, canceled from the registry September 25, 2012.
