Ex 59-5008, to West Germany as BB374. It later became 2911 and was damaged due to bird strike at Soesterberg. The repair was stopped as all WGAF F-104F were grounded.

Preserved in front of the Traditionsverein Aufklärungsgeschwader 51 "Immelmann", not far from Bremgarten. Industrial area.

Has been preserved here in a centre garden between barracks (LwMunDep81) at Duren / Gurzenich. On September 25th, 2009 it left the location for Alten-Buseck.

This F-104 was built in 1959 and given the USAF serial 59-5016 prior to export. It joined the WGAF in 1960 as BB-382 and then was assigned the serial '2916' in 1968. After decomisiioning it was placed on display at the Blucher Kaserne (Blucher Barracks), Aurich, Lower Saxony and painted into these false markings. The frame is now on display in Zehdenick and the collection are happy to allow visitors but please always have the courtesy to ask at reception for permission to enter the site.

This F-104 was built at Palmdale as '59-5008' and shipped to West Germany in crates by sea for reassembly and was TOC by WaSLw 10 (OTU Operational Training Unit) at Norvenich AB as BB374 (BB+374). As 2911 (29+11) it was heavily damaged in December, 1970 during an emergency landing due to bird strike at Soesterberg AB. The repair was stopped as all WGAF F-104F were grounded and so the frame was placed on a pole at Köln-Wahn barracks but is now on display at Flugwelt Altenburg-Nobitz.

With the F-104G still under development, the first Starfighters delivered to the Luftwaffe were thirty F-104F trainers, these having the new J79 engine but no radar or armament.
