One of several H-19s, along with Vertol H-21s and Sikorsky H-34s making up the Royal Canadian Air Force's first dedicated helicopter unit (108 Communications Flight). Used to build the Mid-Canada Line, a series of early warning radar stations from 1954-57, the helicopter was seconded to Okanagan Helicopters as CF-JTB to continue servicing the radar bases. Later converted to turbine, the helicopter remained registered in Canada until 1999.
