Retired in 1964 and preserved at Lasham for many years, before being moved in May 1986 to Duxford, where a thorough restoration, lasting twenty years. was carried out by the Duxford Aviation Society.

Delivered to the RAF as MW232 in 1945. To Dan-Air London as G-ANTK in 1954. Withdrawn from use at Lasham in 1964 and used as a scout hut. Returned to Dan-Air London for preservation in 1974 in exchange for Comet G-APDK. Moved to the British Airliner Collection at Duxford in 1986.

Derived from the Lancaster, the Avro York first flew in 1942 and was intended as a post-war military and civilian airliner. A total of 259 were built and there are only two survivors, the other being in the RAF Museum Cosford Collection. Seen here in the AirSpace hangar at Duxford which is tightly packed. This ex-RAF aircraft flew with Dan-Air London from 1954 until 1964. It is now part of the Duxford Aviation Society's British Airliner Collection and is preserved in AirSpace (along with many other wonderful aircraft) at the IWM Duxford.
