The D.338 prototype, first flown on 9 August 1935. Following modifications, it was bought by Air France, making its first revenue flight from Paris - Le Bourget, where this photo was most probably taken, to Lyon and Marseille on 13 July 1936. F-AOZA was involved in an accident at Martimprey du Kiss (now Ahfir), Morocco, on 30 June 1942, but apparently repaired and destroyed by the RAF at Toulouse in the night of 4 April 1944.

The Dewoitine D.332 prototype at Schiphol on a proving flight. Émeraude departed for Saigon the next month but crashed on the final leg of the return flight, near Corbigny in France in a snowstorm on 15 January 1934. The main variant of the D.332 series was the D.338 which had a rectrable landing gear and was three metres longer still! The terminal building has been reconstucted at the Aviodrome in Lelystad.
