A Fokker T.IV of the original series, with Lorraine-Dietrich engines and open crew positions, over the Madura Strait, off Java. The T.IV was intended mainly for anti-shipping missions, having an internal bomb bay for four 200-kg bombs; it was difficult to fit bomb doors in the hull of flying boats such as the Dutch navy's Dornier Wals.
