Ordered for Netherlands Indies army late in 1941 as L2-38. Delivered to Dutch flying school in Jackson, Mississippi. Served with KLM West Indies branch as PJ-AKD. Then to No 1316 (Dutch) Communications Flight in England as BX238. To RNLAF as T-2; note 'T238' on tailfin. Withdrawn from use in 1951 and sold to Scandinavia. Later acquired for Soesterberg museum. A Fokker T.IV of the original series, with Lorraine-Dietrich engines and open crew positions, over the Madura Strait, off Java. The T.IV was intended mainly for anti-shipping missions, having an internal bomb bay for four 200-kg bombs; it was difficult to fit bomb doors in the hull of flying boats such as the Dutch navy's Dornier Wals.
