Former RAAF HS.748 A10-603.

Ex-Royal Australian Air Force. Along with sister-ship VH-AHL, this was lifted by crane into the Skylark Hotel grounds from the adjacent Southend Airport, following removal of all useable spares, on 20 July 2010 and has been steadily deteriorating since. Destroyed by fire in an arson attack on the night of 28 January 2021.

This is the former RAAF A10-603, which was withdrawn from use 30 Jun 2004. On 16 Feb 2005 it departed Australia for Southend, UK and arrived there on 20 Feb 2005. Stored at Southend until sold to the adjoining Skylark Hotel in Jul 2010. Lifted onto their site on 19 Jul 2010, together with sistership VH-AHL (ex RAAF A10-606). By 2017 both aircraft were in a very neglected state and partly overgrown, but both were still there by Feb 2021. Apologies for the poor view and the obtrusive wing, but no better angle was possible.

Delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force as A10-603 in 1968. To VH-AMQ (2nd use of registration on a 748) and stored at Southend in 2005. To Skylark Hotel, Southend Airport for display in 2010.
