Suffering somewhat from long-term outdoor exposure, this 'Whale' was constructed as an A3D-2 and taken on charge by the USN in 1957, assigned to Heavy Attack Squadron 8 (VAH-8), NAS Whidbey Island, WA. After transfer there to VAH-13 then VAH-123, it was transferred to the NATC, NAS Patuxent River, in whose faded colours it is now on show. It was flown to the Bradley Air Museum. in 1976

This Skywarrior was TOC with the USN in November 1957 and served until it was ferried to NEAM in February 1976. It is now one of the outdoor exhibits at this museum.

30 Nov 1957: TOS USN as A3D-2 12/57: (VAH-8), NAS Whidbey Island, WA. 10/58: FASRON-113, NAS Cubi Point, Philippines. 11/58: Naval Air Facility Obama, Japan. 12/58: VAH-8 on board the USS Midway before ending the deployment back at Whidbey. 10/61: VAH-13, NAS Whidbey. 7/62: Redesignated A-3B. 8/64: VAH-123, NAS Whidbey. 1970: Naval Air Test Center (RDT&E), NAS Patuxent River, MD. 9 Feb 1976: Flown to the New England Air Museum and SOC.
