As well as Russian-built MiG-17s, Indonesia also received licence-built versions in the form of Polish LIM-5Ps and Czech S-104s. The plate with the aircraft states that it was delivered to 11 Sqdn at Iswahyudi AB, Madiun in 1961 and saw service in Operation Trikora (a Soviet-Indonesian campaign which aimed to seize and annex the Dutch overseas territory of Netherlands New Guinea in 1962) and Operation Dwikora (a confrontation with Malaysia in 1963). Placed on display at the Museum in 1984

On display at Museum Pusat TNI-AU Dirgantara Mandala. This aircraft was delivered to Skadron Udara 11 in 1961. During the 1960s, the squadron took part in Op. Trikora and Op. Dwikora. Most Soviet-origin aircraft were grounded in 1969 from a lack of spares due to the Soviet arms embargo and retired in 1970.

To take this photo I clambered into the cockpit of the Yogya museum's Mil Mi-4. I landed back on the ground with a lot of respect for Mi-4 pilots.
