The Texan was in a scrapyard together with other T-6s (and the body of an Alitalia Caravelle). It used to fly within the SVBIE - Scuola Volo Basico Iniziale Aerei ad Elica (Propeller Basic Flying School) based at Lecce, hence the 'SL' code (Scuola di Lecce - Lecce School). The unit was disbanded in 1974 and the aircraft kept in storage at Grottaglie and later at Lancenigo (Castrette). Scramble reports that now it is preserved at Musée Historimage - as 114565/RA in AdlA c/s.
