Delivered to the USAAF as 43-48740 then to the RAAF as A65-63 in 1944. To Papua Niugini as P65-63 then P-005 and P2-005 in 1981 then sold as VH-PWN in 1993. Used for parts at Bankstown. Later moved to Laras Lee airfield near Molong NSW.

This Skytrain was originally A65-63, later served with the Papua New Guinea Air Force. Seen here still in full PNGAF markings with dual registration, shortly after delivery to Dick Lang's Desert-Air. Titles, roundel and serial would soon be painted out.

This Dakota C-47B Skytrain arrived in Adelaide in full Papua New Guinea Air Force markings. But it was in fact VH-PWN on delivery to Dick Lang's Desert-Air. This was the second DC-3 registered VH-PWN. The first had departed for New Zealand a few months before -PWN #2 was registered.

Seen here with the Papua New Guinean flag still on the rudder and "05" on the nose (ex PNG Air Force P2-005). Second use of this registration on a DC-3, registered in Sep 1993. The first VH-PWN was cn 9286, registered in 1967. A 35mm Slide scanned with a Epson Perfection V700 Flatbed scanner.

Operated by Central Flying School, East Sale. Transferred to the PNGDF as P2-005 in 1981.
