Sometimes referred to as the Pitcairn-Larsen PA-39. Seven of these 1941-built autogyros were ordered by the UK's Fleet Air Arm for observation duties. Three were lost when their cargo ship was torpedoed. Two reached the UK. BW830 was retained for tests in the USA and is now the sole survivor.
