A D-Day veteran that dropped paratroops near Sainte-Mère-Église, Normandy and again near Picauville, Normandy the next day, receiving ground fire damage that required a diversion for crew medical attention. Returned to the USA in 1945 and became N28 with the CAA and as above with the FAA. Having survived D-Day, the aircraft was damaged beyond repair by a tornado at Vichy/MO on 7 January 2008 and then converted into a recreational vehicle.The registration had been cancelled as long ago as 23 March 1971.
