Ex USN 135588, withdrawn to AMARC in September 1971. Placed onto the US civil register in March 1984 and seen here in the care of the Tanana Valley Community College at Fairbanks. By 1992 the aircraft had moved to Greybull with Hawkins and Powers and although registered to them as N125HP was never converted and remained at Greybull in a dismantled state for several years. Still carries MASDC inventory code 1P310.

Delivered to the US Navy as P2V-7 135588 in 1955. Converted to a P2V-7S in 1960. Redesignated as an SP-2H in 1962. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB in 1971 with park code 1P310 which is still visible on the nosewheel door. Registered as N4846N in 1984. To Hawkins and Powers Aviation and stored at Greybull from 1992. Reregistered as N125HP in 1997. Cancelled from the register in 2020.

With former registration N4846N crossed out and current reg N125HP handsprayed on. This aircraft was to have gone to the Museum of Aviation at Robins AFB in Aug 2006, but it was still at Greybull by 2009. In Mar 2011 it was sold to Sheppard Trucking Inc., which does not bode well for this Neptune because the company is in the business of scrapping and smelting aircraft.

The placement of a row of Neptunes in front of the Stratotanker line made photographing a single one quite a challenge. For the record: I'm not complaining about the number of aircraft there! [Provia 100F, DiMage Scan]

Remnants of its military ID apart from the obvious BuNo are the MASDC code on the nose wheel door and the faded combination 'LV-3' worn with VP-66 in the first half of the seventies. This aircraft was to have been rescued from the scrapman. She was purchased by a group calling themselves the Naval Aircraft Restoration Group (NARG) in 2006 and was to be transported to Warner Robins, GA for display, but plans fell through.
