Delivered new in 1994 to South African Express and here registered to Bombardier Capital awaiting its next assignment which was a lease as ZK-NER in March 2000. After that it bounced around, including time as 5Y-MOC with the United Nations. In 2018 it became US Army serial 16-00374 and designated as an RO-6A. Brazil based PENTA had two other DHC-8, but not this one, so the titles must be the result of a frustrated lease/sale.

This aircraft would eventualy be delivered a few months later to Trident Aviation of Kenya as 5Y-MOC. Trident Aviation would operate this DHC-8 on behalf of the United Nations hence the reason of the UN & Humanitarian Air Service titles on the aircraft.

This aircraft served with SA Express between May 1994 and January 1998 when it was flown to Calgary where it is seen in this photo. It later went to New Zealand and Kenya where it operated humanitarian flights for the UN.
