'The Russian Spitfire.' Visiting Sywell for the 2021 opening of the Sywell Aviation Museum who had built the bomb racks and bombs for this aircraft. Built at Castle Bromwich and rolled out on 04 Aug 1944. Shipped to Murmansk by sea in Oct 1944. Joined the 2nd squadron, 767th Regiment, 122nd Division of the Soviet Air Force. Crashed over the Kola Peninsular on 18 May 1945 after a collision with another Spitfire. The pilot bale out. The aircraft only had about 18 hours on the clock. Registered as G-BYDE on 11 Nov 1998. To G-PTIX on 29 Jan 2018.
