Briefly operated by Western Air Express, this Fokker F.32 eventually found a satisfied owner - Bob Spencer whose Air Mail Service Station in Los Angeles reportedly thrived. It was on the northwest corner of the intersection, then at 5453, today 5455 Wilshire Boulevard. The plane served at the gas station for about five years and was scrapped late in 1939. The Rocky Mountains dwarfing the large Fokker F.32 during a 'New York to Hollywood' flight - Anthony Fokker made some fanfare around the delivery of two F.32s for WAE. A dance troupe was carried - NC333N wore different 'Fox-Fanchon & Marco Flying House Party' titles. These were the only two F.32 airframes to see airline service, and then only briefly. Not only did the Depression kick in, the type was badly underpowered even if the two pusher engines weren't overheating. Photo from: Pikes Peak Library District
