What is known about this aircraft is that it served with the Royal Flying Corps before being transferred to 1 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps. The soldiers appear to a mix of Australian light horsemen and New Zealand mounted riflemen. 1 Squadron's role was to work closely with Australian and New Zealand mounted soldiers and this photo would appear to be from that period.
