JF Airlines, also called Jersey Ferry Airlines, were flying Portsmouth to Jersey as one of their routes. Although a STOL airliner the Twin Pioneer was slower than many helicopters. The Yak-40 had been demonstrated at Portsmouth a few days before this photo. There had been a couple of non fatal grass runway over-run incidents with, I believe HS-748s and the airport was closed in the 70s.

This Twin Pin is seen after returning from Kuwait Airways with whom she flew as 9K-ACC on behalf of the Kuwait Oil Co, having been delivered to BOAC Associated Companies in 10.57. Bought by JF Airlines in 3.71 for services out of Portsmouth, Flight One of Staverton took her on in 3.73, although soon sold to Terr-Air as C-GSTX for mining and logging support.
