Delivered in 2009 and due for replacement by 2026 by AH-64s. The AH-64 was a losing contender against the Tiger, a decision criticised at the time because the Tiger was seen as less capable. The army's experience with the Tiger was dogged by performance shortfalls and groundings. The year it finally achieved full capability - 2016 and five years late - was the year it was announced a more "proven and mature" helicopter would replace it by 2026. The Apache was selected in 2021.
