Former RAAF A10-606

Ex-Royal Australian Air Force. Along with sister-ship VH-AMQ, this was lifted by crane into the Skylark Hotel grounds from the adjacent Southend Airport following removal of all useable spares on 20 July 2010. Originally intended to be converted into a wedding venue it has unfortunately been steadily deteriorating since. VH-AMQ was destroyed by fire in an arson attack on the night of 28 January 2021.

This is the former RAAF A10-606 (note "6" still visible above the windscreen), which was withdrawn from use 30 Jun 2004. It departed Australia for Southend, UK on 27 Feb 2005 and arrived there on 3 Mar 2005. Stored at Southend until sold to the adjoining Skylark Hotel in Jul 2010. Lifted onto their site on 19 Jul 2010, together with sistership VH-AMQ (ex RAAF A10-603). By 2017 both aircraft were in a very neglected state and partly overgrown, but both were still there by Feb 2021.

Delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force as A10-606 in 1969. To VH-AHL and stored at Southend in 2005. To Skylark Hotel, Southend Airport for display in 2010.

A10-606 was operated as a navigation trainer from May 1969. It was withdrawn from use in 2004 and sold as VH-AHL. It was then ferried to Southend, UK, for parting out.
