One of MHD's five ex-RAAF AP-3Cs, formerly A9-664

Former Australian AP-3C departs on a two-hour training flight with German Navy pilots onboard. MHD Rockland provides aircraft for initial and recurrent training for the Germany Navy.

MHD Rockland is building a P-3C aircrew training center at Keystone Airpark and recently acquired five former Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) AP-3Cs. Former RAAF A9-664 was registered N664SD on November 14, 2018 and departed Avalon Airport for the U.S. the next day. The aircraft staged through Pago Pago, Hawaii, New Mexico on its journey to Florida. All five aircraft were parked at the airport during my January 16, 2019 visit and all appeared to be in excellent condition.

Just shutting down the outers on arrival for static display at the Australian International Airshow. This aircraft was built as a P-3C and allocated the USN Bu 162664 for administrative purposes. It initially carried the Lockheed flight-test reg N64854 before delivery to the RAAF as A9-664 on 30 April 1986, the second-last RAAF P-3C. Later converted to AP-3C standard. Currently with 92 Wing based at RAAF Edinburgh.
