This Tiger Moth has an interesting history: built in Australia for a Netherlands East Indies order and civil registered PK-VVT. Shipped out of the NEI and loaned to the RAAF in 1942. Allocated RAAF serial A17-624 and taken on charge 7 March 1942 at 1 EFTS, Parafield. Sold post-war, becoming VH-AMH(2) on 26 July 1951. Withdrawn in January 1965, but restored as VH-TIG on 10 April 1968.

Cropdusting Tiger Moths were fitted with roll cages to protect pilots when aircraft flipped on their backs. By the time the photo of VH-AMH was taken the days of the cropdusting Tiger Moth were over due to safety concerns.

Withdrawn from use in 1965. Restored to the register in 1968 as VH-TIG.

Built by DHA in WW2 as A17-624.

VH-TIG was registered in April 1968. It was a rebuild of VH-AMH that had been withdrawn from use three years earlier.
