Built by Armstrong-Whitworth at Coventry and first flown from their Bitteswell test airfield. Wears "Suez" markings of 899 Naval Squadron. After retirement allocated A2637 and 8155M.

Saw action in the Suez conflict and still wears the Suez invasion stripes. It was originally built at Coventry by Armstrong-Whitworth.

Served with 787, 899, 898 and 738 NAS before retirement at Sydenham, where it became an instructional airframe. Later spent some time at Halton and Culdrose before ending up as seen here at the Midland Air Museum, displayed in Suez colours - the yellow and black stripes were to aid recognition of friendly forces.

Wears the marks of 899 Naval Squadron which it served in late 1956 aboard HMS Eagle during the Suez Canal hostilities.
