This C-118 spent a couple of periods with the US Navy, displaying a tail number reflecting its 1953 USAF serial. In the 1976-1981 period the full USAF serial, minus hyphen, was worn on the fin. By the time of this image, '228 was back on USAF charge and AMARC park code CG089 was assigned. It is not visible in this image but was most likely carried. The aircraft was later civilianised and entered service with Everts Air Fuel as N351CE. It last flew in 2015 and is believed to be parked in good condition at Fairbanks International Airport, Alaska.

Parked at Everts' North Hangar most likely out of Part 121 airframe hours. If so, it could be used as a spares airplane or brought into service with Everts Fuel, which operates under Part 125.

33228 was not a regular USN serial but an adaption of its previous USAF serial 53-3228, to which it would return.
