Later withdrawn at Daytona Beach. By 2012 had moved by ground transport to Apopka, FL for a planned museum which did not materialize. Scrapped July 2020.

The cockpit to be used to build a simulator; the engines to an engine rebuilder in California; the seats, hat racks and rear entrance door to Scroggins Aviation in California; and the remainder transported to a scrapyard in Leesburg, FL and scrapped.

Delivered to American as N94270 in 1949. To Mohawk as N1022C in 1960. To other operators after 1966 then to TI-AOC in 1979. To Trans Florida as N2642Z in 1981 then back to N1022C in 1982. To Orlando-Apooka Airport for preservation in 2010.

The museum acquired the aircraft a few years ago and I heard on October 27, 2017 that it plans on scrapping this former American Airlines airliner with a complete passenger interior. What a shame!

This former American, Mohawk and Trans Florida Airlines CV240 was disassembled at Daytona Beach Airport and transported by ground to Apopka in September 2009. It has a complete and original passenger interior.
