The museum gate guard since 2014, having replaced A-7 70-0973. Delivered to the US Navy as A4D-2N 148571 in 1961, redesignated A-4C the following year. Became N401FS in 1974, N53996 seemingly not taken up and with Flight Systems until 1981. Via a short period at MASDC (3A530) to the museum.

Delivered to the US Navy as 148571 in 1961. To Flight Systems as N401FS in 1974. Returned to the US Navy as 148571 at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ in 1981. To the museum in 1982. Later repainted as N401FS and placed on display at the museum entrance.

Markings: Flight Systems Inc. Mohave, California, 1974-1981

Pictured recently arrived from Davis Monthan on loan from the National Naval Aviation Museum. Displayed in the colors of Flight Systems, Inc who operated the Skyhawk with other ex-military jets in their stable between 1974 - 1981. The aircraft now welcomes visitors to the Pima Air & Space Museum displayed at the entrance with it's former civilian registration (N401FS).
