Unlike other 707s in Global's fleet, N8440 kept its unpainted fuselage and fin from the livery of previous owner American Airlines. Global was active from 1981 to 1984.

With American Airlines September 1969 - September 1982, this 707 would go on to fly with Global International Airlines (N165GL), Air Seychelles (S7-LAS) and African Express Airways (5Y-BFF). Registered to Omega Air in July 1990 as N7158Z, it was broken up at Davis Monthan Air Force Base for parts in the KC-135E upgrade program.

LAS operated a weekly service to Perth.

Being prepared for departure later in the day to its final resting place at Davis-Monthan AFB, where it yielded engines and other parts for the KC-135E conversion programme.

This old 707 served with American as N8440 for many years but eventually wound up with African Express. She was retired during Jul 90 and flown to the boneyard to provide spares for the KC-135 fleet and still survives at AMARG with the PCN/Inventory No. AACZ0178.
