Operated by Johnsons Air in basic Kitty Hawk colours without titles

United Airlines operated N8973U September 1969 until retired in July 1983. The aircraft was sold to International Air Leases (IALI) in 1984 and leases to Rich International Airways, Northeastern International Airways and Hawaiian Airlines followed up to 1993. Converted to a freighter by American International Airways and registered N803CK, the aircraft was stored at Mojave, CA in 2000. A short lease to Silk Airways (4K-AZ29) in 2003 before Johnsons Air (9G-PEL) was the last airline to fly the freighter 2003 -05. It was stored at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, United Arab Emirates.

Operated by Johnsons Air. It was originally delivered to United Airlines as N8973U. Also operated (as N8973U) with several other US carriers. Then became N803CK with Kalitta and Kitty Hawk International (whose basic colours it wears in this photo. Then to 4K-AZ29 with Silk Way Airlines before acquired by Johnsons Air. Reported as broken up circa 2007.

Delivered new to United Als in 09.69. Served Rich from 09.86 until leased to Hawaiian in 04.87.

Flew for UA from 9/69 to 9/82. After several leases was cvtd to (F) 12/94 as N803CK.

This former Johnsons Air aircraft has apparently been standing idle at Sharjah for a few weeks. It looks as though it has had a substantial bird strike and the windows have been crudely covered with cardboard.

N8973U delivered to United in September 1969. It was in Sydney on a charter nine years before United started flying scheduled services to Australia.
