Allocated US Navy serial 161378. Delivered to the Netherlands Navy as 310 in 1984. Stored at Alverca, Portugal from 2003. Delivered to the Portuguese Air Force as 14811 in 2007. Stored in a hangar at Alverca from 2021.

FMS serial 161378, delivered to the Koninklijke Marine (Royal Netherlands Naval Aviation) on 10 April 1984 and served 320sq from that moment. It was modified to P-3C-II½ and was later handed over to Portugal as 14811 in January 2003.

During the nineties the Dutch Navy used a tiny serial presentation. Best to read are the last two digits in the nose wheel bay...

The Orions were the successor of the Neptune and were delivered from November 1981. It was used as anti-sub and patrol aircraft from homebase Valkenburg. Usually 1 aircraft was based in Kevlavik (Iceland) for reconnaissance of the Soviet fleet. At Hato (Curacao), it wasn't an unusual sight to see 3 aircraft, which were used in the war against drugs. Due to budget cuts, the squadron was disbanded and homebase Valkenburg was closed. '310' entered service in April 1984 and was retired in October 2001.
