Seen in temporary B class markings after painting by Fields. First flight 28 Dec 1983. To Contactair as D-CONU on 03 Aug 1984. Leased to Lakeside Aviation as G-LAKJ on 16 Jul 1993 then back to D-CONU on 10 Nov 1993. To Sun-Air of Scandinavia 29 Jun 1994 as OY-SVP. DBR 26 Jan 1998 in an incident with a ground vehicle. Cancelled 13 May 1998 and sold for parts.

The Orions were the successor of the Neptune and were delivered from November 1981. It was used as anti-sub and patrol aircraft from homebase Valkenburg. Usually 1 aircraft was based in Kevlavik (Iceland) for reconnaissance of the Soviet fleet. At Hato (Curacao), it wasn't an unusual sight to see 3 aircraft, which were used in the war against drugs. Due to budget cuts, the squadron was disbanded and homebase Valkenburg was closed. '310' entered service in April 1984 and was retired in October 2001. Venture Airways provided an all First Class service linking Coventry with Paris CDG. The aircraft had F class seats in a 1-2 configuration. Small world that it was, one of the Venture Airways company executives lived next door to my parents. Shortly after they commenced operations he invited me to sample their service. This photo was taken early morning prior to my departure to Paris CDG. It was a wonderful experience, but sadly Venture Airways' existence was short-lived as they could not compete with the multi-frequency options offered by established airlines from nearby Birmingham Airport.

Delivered new Feb 83. Retired Feb 2002 when the airline ceased operations. Broken up Jan 2008 with TT 44353 hours and 22264 cycles.
