One time Western Air Lines N4517W, it was purchased by Polaris Aircraft Leasing in Mar 81. It then went on lease to AirCal as N473AC. Also operated as American Airlines and, for a very short spell, Braniff. Later, after this photo, it spent time with Sierra Pacific Airlines, Viscount Air Service (as N309VA), Nations Air Express and Eastwind Airlines until retired Sep 99.

No longer with titles and tail logo (a sort of cartoon bee-like figure), ex Eastwind Airlines.

This AirCal 737 was originally delivered to Western Airlines December 9, 1968. Leased by Air California in March 1981, they bought it from Polaris Leasing six months later. After merging with American Airlines in 1987, it was sold as American got rid of the 737s. Many leases over the next 10 years and a change of registration to N309VA saw the 737 returned to the lessor for the last time in 1999.
