Delivedred to the US Navy as 151391 in 1964. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ in 1986. Sold to Aero Union as N180AU in 1989. Reregistered as N406TP in 1990 the and used as a GMA2100 engine test bed. Modified to a P-3A Aerostar and reregistered as N900AU in 1991. Stored at Sacramento-McClellan in 2011 after Aero Union's contract was terminated. To United Aeronatical Corp in 2013.

Testbed for the GM-Allison T406 and 2100 engines. Reregistered N900AU in April 1991.

The international airport in Phoenix even had their own little corner for Airtankers.

Originally US Navy 151391, this Orion was retired from the military in 1986 and stored at MASDC. Bought by Aero Union Corp and converted to an fire fighting air tanker, first registered N180AU and later N900AU. In July 2011, the US Forest Service cancelled Aero Union's contract due to safety concerns. That contract was 95% of the company's income and resulted in it closing it's door shortly after. This P-3 as well as others have been stored at various airports since the end of 2011.
