Delivered to Pan American as N86520 in 1947. To Guest Aerovias as XA-GOQ then returned to Lockheed as N86520 in 1948. To Air France as F-BAZR in 1949 then to the French Air Force as 2503 in 1963 and used as an engine testbed by the CEV - Centre d'Essais en Vol. Donated to the Musée de l'Air in 1975. Later stored on the Dugny side of the airfield.

Leased by Pan Am in 1947, this L-749 made the 'first commercial flight around the world' - New York to San Francisco via Europe and Asia. It completed the circumnavigation as a ferry flight because Pan Am was not allowed to fly domestic services. PAA could carry passengers between foreign cities on the route, however, and it was in the timetable as PA flight 1 and 2 for many years. This photograph shows detail of the engine test rig that was fitted to the Constellation and the icing test equipment. The aircraft is now under restoration and the test rig has been removed.

Initially built for Pan American in 1947 as N86520; Later sold to Air France as F-BAZR which used it in the Fifties. Finaly used as flying test bed for Bastan trurboprop engine. Wfu in 1975 and preserved in Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace.

This aircraft flew as testbed with the French AF. Now it has been repainted in the colours of Air France.

This magnificent aircraft was on display at the Paris Airshow. It had been used as an engine test bed with a turbo-prop engine on a rig on the fuselage. The device forward of the engine sprayed water for icing tests.
