Part of the Skyfame Collection's impressive static line-up at the 1975 Gloucestershire Air Show. Skyfame sadly closed at Staverton in January 1978. TG263 made its way to Duxford along with much of the collection, transferring to Solent Sky at Southampton by 1993. It remains on display there in 2024.

First jet powered seaplane. First flew as TG263 in 1947. Retired in 1951. Presented to the College of Aeronautics at Cranfield in 1954. Moved to the Skyfame Museum at Staverton in 1966, then to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford in 1978. Photo taken soon after restoration had been completed. TG263 was the 1st prototype, and sole survivor, of the three which were built of this experimental flying boat fighter. It is devoid of all marks in this photograph, perhaps following a respray?

Prototype seaplane fighter, the first of three built in 1947 by Saro. First flew on 16 Jul 1947 as G-12-1. The other two examples were lost in tests and this aircraft last flew in 06.51. On loan from Duxford to the Solent Sky Museum.
