On 30 January 1970, the two ex-TAA Viscounts at Southend, VH-TVD & VH-TVF, were moved from the centre of the airfield to a site on the North side of the airfield (as depicted above), where they were completely stripped of all useful spares prior to scrapping. The latter task had commenced by 7 February 1970, both fuselages having been severed aft of the wing trailing edge. By 15 February the two aircraft had been reduced to a fast-diminishing heap of scrap, which had completely disappeared by 21 February 1970.

First flight 1 December1954 and delivered to TAA at Essendon, Melbourne 24 December 1954. WFU and stored at Essendon 6 April 1967. To Keegan Aviation for sale in the UK, arriving at Southend 12 September 1967. No sale materialised and sold to Flightspares Ltd. on 16 January 1970 for parting out and eventually scrapped at Southend in February 1970.

In storage, having arrived in September 1967, with a protective red coating over the bare metal areas. Sold to Flight Spares Ltd in January 1970 and broken up.

After service with TAA it was sold to Keegan Aviation in the U.K. but never flew again. It was broken-up by Ali Ingots Ltd in February 1970. Here she is seen under tow at Southend after arrival back in the U.K.
