The one and only Mk II Beaver ever built. Originally it went to Britain for evaluation by the military. It was fitted with an Alvis-Leionides engine of 600 HP and an enlarged vertical tail. It was not accepted by the British military apparently because of the high cost, so it came back to Canada and over the years went through many owners. It eventually was fitted with a PZL engine of 6oo HP and I photographed it in Fort St James on the Stuart river in 2000. It was and still is the ugliest Beaver I have ever seen. Forward visibility for the pilot must be extremely difficult.
