Delivered to United as CV-340 N73139 in 1953. To Turbo-Prop conv Inc in 1960 for conversion to CV-540 with Napier Eland engines. Reg N546Z not taken up. Project stopped in 1962 when Rolls-Royce took over Napier and converted to a CV-440 for Allegheny. To the FAA as N117 in 1963 then to the US Department of Justice as N1179 in 1965, Williamsport Area Community College in 1972 and International Field Studies in 1979. To Florida Aircraft Leasing in 1986 and operated for the Wall Street Journal/Dow Jones. Scrapped at Fort Lauderdale in 1995.

Operating for The Wall Street Journal, owned by Florida Aircraft Leasing. Built for United Air Lines as a Convair 340, this aircraft was converted to CV-440 standard in 1960. It wears small "The Wall Street Journal" titles on the nose.
