Malinair operated a small network of secondary domestic routes connecting Scotland, England, Belfast and Donegal in 1986/87 until it was acquired by Air Ecosse. Their fleet comprised three Dornier 228s and three BN-2 Islanders.

Operating a regular night-time Royal Mail service. Operated by Malinair 01.87 to 07.87, then to Air Ecosse Later D-IAAL with Arcus Air.

This aircraft had quite a history starting out as G-BEXA, briefly N3835Z, then to the RAF Parachute Association as ZB503 / G-DIVE before joining Malinair. After their demise it reverted to G-BEXA then G-DIVE with Air Furness than back to PBN. Next it became G-PBCB before joining Medical Aviation Services as G-PASY. After 5 years it joined Cheshire Police as G-CHES. In 2002 it went to the Irish Parachute Club as EI-IPC but reverted to G-CHES with Cormac Aircraft services in 2007. It was finally destroyed in take-off accident at Guadalcanal-Los Tomillares Airstrip on 17th Oct 2007.

Malinair operated three Islanders and three Do228s in Scotland between 1985 and 1987. This aircraft became C-FCVK but was w/o on 7.12.98 at Baie Comeau, QC, crashing into the St Laurence River
