First flew on 21st August 1956. Served with 47 and 53 Squadrons at Abingdon before being transferred to 34 Squadron in Singapore in 1964. Scrapped at Seletar in 1968.

Heron 2 393 wearing the titles 'Royal Iraqi Air Force' demonstrating at the 1956 Farnborough Air Show. It had been newly built at DH's Chester factory and was delivered shortly after the show.

Newly-built by Auster Aircraft at Rearsby, Leicester. Exhibited at the 1956 SBAC show. Later served 652 (AOP) Squadron RAF before being transferred to the Army Air Corps in September 1957.

The second prototype Valiant demonstrating to the SBAC crowd wearing its initial all-metallic scheme. Grounded for wing fatigue testing in December 1957.

The prototype Fairey FD-2 using its "droop snoot" whilst landing after its display at the 1956 Farnborough air show. On March 10, 1956, this aircraft had broken the world's airspeed record at 1132 mph. Later converted to BAC-221 configuration with ogival wing planform for Concorde development work.
