One of six ex Portugese Noratlases due to go to Mozambique following their retirement from FAP service in the mid 1970s. 6412 was overhauled by OGMA at Alverca and given the Mozambique serial C9-ARD but problems, allegedly to do with finance, meant that the aircraft was never delivered and was instead allocated to the Museo do Ar. It has been present in the storage area at Alverca since 1983 and is still present in 2021.

This aircraft is ex FAP 6405, but 6403 is not a fake serial. The aircraft was officially re-serialled from 6405 to 6403 in 1977.

Built in 1954 as N2501A and converted to N2502 in October 1955 with Turbomeca Marbore wingtip auxiliary jets. Exhibited at the 1957 Paris Air Salon with dual Aeromaritime and UAT titles.

By my reckoning the star of the superb Museu do Ar collection (I was lucky to catch her outside as more recently preserved inside the refurbished museum). Beautifully restored in 2006, there was some mystery about the aircraft's former identity but it was officially re-serialled from 6405 to 6403 in 1977. Originally built for UAT as F-BGZF and one of six from that source.
