First flown in 1946, the Calquin was a wooden light bomber inspired by the Mosquito, designed for Merlin engines but R-1830 Twin Wasp radials were used instead. Some 100 AI-24s were built for the Argentine air force. The type was not easy to fly and 50 airmen lost their lives in accidents. Photo from: Nederlands Instituut voor Militaire Historie
