The first Mirage 111CZ delivered to South Africa in 1963. First painted in a black and gold colour scheme to celebrate 2 Squadrons 50th anniversary in 1990 and adapted with the revised tail and logo for the SAAF 75th Anniversary in 1995. Later flew with the SAAF historic flight as ZU-DME but no longer active and has been stored at Hoedspruit for several years.

The SAAF retired the Cheetah C in 2008, ten including 366, were later sold to Ecuador and delivered in 2011/12 along with two 2 seat Cheetah Bs. These were followed by a further two Cheetah Cs in 2016.

The Cessna 185 played an important role in South Africa's 23 year long bush war and 45 were used in total. The type entered service in 1962 and the last were retired in 2006. 715 is now in the care of the SAAF museum at Swartkop.

The SAAF acquired three former Air France Boeing 707s in 1982 primarily for use as tankers by 60 Sqn based at Waterkloof.. Two more were added in 1990 and 1992 and the role of early warning and electronic warfare was added to the units capability. Two of the aircraft were capable of carrying ELINT pods although at the time there was much secrecy surrounding that project and they were seldom seen in public. Latterly the 707s were used more for general transport and humanitarian purposes and the type was finally withdrawn in October 2007. 1419 is now displayed in the SAAF Museum at Swartkop.

Operating for 44 Sqn, visiting Louis Trichardt from its base at Waterkloof. In 1998 all of 44 Sqns C-47TPs were transferred to 35 Sqn at Ysterplat for use in the maritime surveillance role. 6885 is still active with the unit in 2022.

Wearing the commemorative badge to celebrate 75 years of the SAAF. Sold as ZS-RYU in 2005 and later to 5H-ALA. No longer registered.

Built for the RAF as EZ179 but shipped direct to South Africa to become 7559. To the Gabon AF as 'F' in the late 1980s and returned to South Africa for rebuild becoming 7001 (2). Later registered as ZU-CXV and displayed in the SAAF Museum.

Delivered as a C-130B in December 1962 and operated by 28 Squadron from Waterkloof, still believed active in 2022.

One of 11 Cheetah Ds converted from Mirage 111DZ airframes. The type was withdrawn from service in 2008. After a period of storage, 839 was scrapped by Universal recycling of Johannesburg in March 2013

After several years of storage following withdrawal from service, 345 was one of nine Cheetah Cs purchased by Draken International in 2017.
