Ex 45-0962, NZ3553, ZK-ERI, D6-CAE and SAAF 6871(2). Registered as ZS-LJI in August 1982 and converted to DC-3-65TP by Wonderair. Operated by Virunga Air and later Professional Aviation Services, it was impounded at Beira, Mozambique in July 1998, allegedly for cigarette smuggling. Stored in a hangar there until 2013 when it was parked outside. Still present in a derelict condition in April 2023.

Operating for 44 Sqn, visiting Louis Trichardt from its base at Waterkloof. In 1998 all of 44 Sqns C-47TPs were transferred to 35 Sqn at Ysterplat for use in the maritime surveillance role. 6885 is still active with the unit in 2022.

This former SAAF Dakota has a very interesting history. Delivered to the RNZAF's 40 Sqd as NZ3546 in June 1945 where it served until July 1952 when it was passed on to New Zealand National Airways as ZK-AWQ. Returned to the the RNZAF in April 1961 where it served until wftu in 1977. After a further two years on the NZ register as ZK-AWQ, it was sold to the Comores as D6-CAG as part the SAAF clandestine scheme to replenish its transport fleet circumventing UN imposed sanctions on the country. Delivered to the USAAF as 44-76312 then to the RAF as KN334 and the SAAF as 6882 in 1945. Converted to a C-47TP by 1999. Registered as ZS-MAP in 2003 then N882TP in 2009. Current on the register in 2022.

Originally a C-47A, converted to C-47TP Turbo Dakota in the early 1990s.

Originally a C-47B, converted to C-47TP Turbo Dakota in the early 1990s. It is the second SAAF DC-3 to carry this serial. In 1944 and 1945 the serial 6845 was also carried by c/n 26114/14669.

Operated with the SAAF from 1945, flying for many years as a target tug for 25 Squadron from Ysterplat. Converted to C-47TP in the late 1990s and operated by 35 Squadron also based at Ysterplat. Involved in a runway excursion landing at Mthatha in November 2012 and believed written off.

Built as 44-76616, delivered to the RAF in 1945 as KN472 and to the South African Air Force later the same year as 6868. Converted to DC3-65TP status in 1995 and sold to Dodson Aviation in July 1998 as N194RD becoming ZS-OIR in November 1998 and returning to N194RD in August 1999. The evangelical Christian humanitarian aid organization Samaritans Purse bought the aircraft in August 2001.

Wearing the 'Silver Falcons' colour scheme as worn by the SAAF Aerobatic team's PC-7s. Crashed into a peak in the Drakensburg Mountains in severe weather conditions on December 5 2012 en route Waterkloof (FAWK) to Mthatha (UTT).

Delivered to the USAAF as 43-48581 then to the RAF as KJ863 in 1944. To the Pakistan Air Force as H-713 in 1947, G-ANLK in 1954, N1592V in 1954, N90M in 1955, N90ML in 1971, CF-WTU in 1973, N3146Z in 1982 and ZS-LYW in 1988. Converted to a DC-3-65TP in 1992. Crashed in Zaire in 1995.
